Our University is an academic institution with a modern, functional, and inclusive approach that creates the conditions for strengthening the collective effort of the university community to respond to contemporary challenges. The School of Health Sciences (SHS), which includes the Departments of Medicine and Pharmacy, is one of the oldest pillar schools of the University of Patras, with a continuous mission to provide high-quality education at all levels, with graduates serving public health and society at large, producing high-level research with a significant impact at the local, national, and international levels and the broader socio-economic environment, and developing academic activities with international impact, in an academic environment full of challenges, competitiveness, and constant change. All undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the School of Health Sciences have been evaluated and certified by the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (HQAA), are fully harmonized with international standards, and produce excellent scientists who pursue careers in Greece and abroad.
The academic and research staff of the School, who play a decisive role in ensuring the quality of studies, conduct high-level research with international impact and distinctions, while at the same time aiming at extroversion and utilization of the results of the knowledge produced. The important international image of the School of Economics and Business is reflected in the high international rankings of its Departments, while its international image has attracted student mobility from abroad through exchanges every year, as well as important collaborations at the international level. Finally, the departments of the School of Health Sciences have a number of activities with a direct impact on both the local community and the national level.
In the modern era, where the fields of health sciences are rapidly expanding and transforming, the School’s Departments are at the forefront with the creation of new foreign language study programs at all levels, based on their significant comparative advantages, which enable them to successfully meet all current requirements and set an example in all thematic axes, contributing to the pursuit of the Institution’s strategic plan as well as national strategies for higher education, research, and innovation.
